Ultimaxx Streetdance Competititon 2009

Yes! The Ultimaxx Streetdance Competition is back!!! The annual event will be held at Dewan Sri Pinang, Penang on the 30th of May, 2009. The competition will focus on encouraging streetdance as a healthy and enjoyable sport amongst youngsters. It is expected that through the providing of information regarding the culture to the public that it will be possible to raise the country’s standard of street dancing. Let's take a look at what went on during last year's event!

Conquest Of The Galaxy: Mars by Condors

The sensational all-male Japanese dance troupe Condors is returning to KL after performing to packed halls here 8 years ago!

Brainchild of Ryohei Kondo, Condors has conquered their homeland, turning the Japanese contemporary dance scene on its head. Tickets for one of their Tokyo performances were snapped up in fourteen minutes! And it doesn't stop there, folks - Condors Mania has spread all over the world. Wherever they go, their performance always send audiences spinning through amazement, shock and laughter.

From their trademark Japanese high-school uniform outfits to their liberal use of shtick and overblown video imagery, this company redefines what a dance performance can be and should be. The troupe is also well-known for its satirical treatment of Japanese pop culture.

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a wild ride on the 21st of March, 8:30pm, at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre!

Hao Ren Dance Competition

The finals of the Hao Ren Dance Competition has finally come! The event was held in the same venue in Sungei Wang Plaza, with a larger audience this time and of course, tougher competitors. With Jia Sheng as the emcee of the day and a panel of professional judges, the event managed to run smoothly without any unmwanted interruption. There were altogether 5 groups involved and Ultimaxx was the lucky number three! Congrats to Maxx and Charles! You guys did us proud again!

International Hip-Hop Competition 2009

Remember the recent Hip-Hop Competition in Genting that I was telling you about? Here's our group and their performance!

It's my birthday!!!

My birthday was a blast!!! First of all, I got to have two birthday cakes. Then, there was the surprise trip to A'Famosa and Jonker Street, Malacca with a bunch my closest friends. There was the animal show, cowboy show, waterpark adventure and so much more! What else could I ever wish for?!! This is perhaps the best birthday I've ever had! I would personally like to thank Charles, Raye, Ah Pow and most importantly, Maxx for all the great surprises. Things wouldn't have been so perfect without you guys. Special thanks, too, to Colin and Wendy for the cake. I didn't see that coming at all. Thank you all so much!

Hao Ren Dance Competition

I bet all of you know Hao Ren, right? And I guess most of you have also heard of the recent Hao Ren dance competition! The rule of the competition is that you have to dance along to the songs from Hao Ren's debut album, 真的.好人, and we from Ultimaxx have chosen to dance along to first single in the album, 好人的歌. The results have yet to be announced so please join us for the finals of the competition in Sungei Wang this coming Saturday!

F&N Casting Call

We from Utimaxx are happy to have attended a casting call for an F&N commercial! Other then Charles, Raye and Maxx himself, we have also chosen a few from among our students to join us for the BBoy routine that we've planned for the call. It was definitely a fresh and exciting experience for us and we're looking forward to take part in more casting calls to come but first of all, lets just pray that we'll be chosen for this one......

KBox Reunion

Yes! Ultimaxx was at KBox, SS2 for yet another karaoke session!!! The contenders are the same since they weren't really satisfied with their last performance and as you can see, Charles went ahead to put on a really tough fight for the race to number one. Raye, on the other hand, seems to have given up. Guess he couldn't take the pressure of fighting against an ex-rocker and a self-acclaimed Malaysian version of Jay Chou. Poor boy...... Anyway, the food at KBox was awesome and I definitely don't mind recommending this place for recreational purposes.

Ultimaxx In Genting

Early in the morning of the 29th of February, a group from Ultimaxx which consisted of BBoy Ice, BBoy Fire, BBoy Twist, BBoy Dyi and quite a few of their supporters packed their bags and left for the Arena Of Stars, Genting for the much awaited Hip-Hop Competition 2009. I couldn't really write much about the trip and what went on during the competiton since I wasn't exactly there, but I guess the pictures speak louder than words and we could see that they definitely had fun. As we all know, the big prize went to the hugely popular Twister Genies from Johor, but guys, we know you've given it your best, so remember to never give up, okay!

You see...... Since Ultimaxx is rather new in KL and we're not fully booked yet, we sure have found interesting but plain nonsensical stuff to do during our spare time. That includes drawing 'corak' on our poor students' hands and 'grafitti-ing' our names on unused cans. At least that's how we express our creativity and our love for art......
